My experience as an athlete, coach, parent and mental performance consultant provides me with a unique but holistic and educational approach to my practice.
Judy is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® and an outspoken advocate for developing the mental side of performance. Judy focuses on self-awareness, education and collaboration with athletes, coaches and teams to build a system and approach that fits along with their values and goals. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Judy traveled to the US for her education, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University, a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas and a doctoral degree from the University of Maryland.
Judy enjoys working with coaches and organizations to redefine coach development and education programs. Judy recently completed the Mental and Self Skills Module for the Long Term Development of figure skaters for Skate Canada. She is a Senior Practitioner with Sport Sciences Canada.
Judy has been instrumental in the development of Sport Psychology in Ontario. Co-founder of Sport Psych Ontario which soon integrated with the Mental Training Registry of the Coaches Association of Canada which eventually gave birth to the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA), leading the certification and development of sport psychology in Canada. A former member of the Managing Council of CSPA has now taken on the position on the Certification Council that manages the certification process of Certified Mental Performance Consultants® (CMPC) for the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and CSPA.
She has served as the Mental Performance Lead for Own the Podium and enjoys lecturing at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in the Sport Science Fellowship program. Judy has traveled to many international competitions: Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Pan American Games and World Championships with Wheelchair Basketball Canada, Swimming Canada, Skate Canada and Synchro Canada.
As a Mental Performance Consultant, Judy currently works as part of an Integrated Support Team for Athletics Canada, Skate Canada, Wrestling Canada, Swim Ontario, Skate Ontario and Ontario Cycling.
